Origins & Education

Born in Algiers in 1969. Studied at Bouzaréah High School and the Algerian Petroleum Institute. She obtained her PhD in clastic reservoir sedimentology from IFP and Rennes University in France.

Scientific Career

Dr. Henniche started her career with Sonatrach in Algeria, where she worked for 13 years. In 1999, she moved to France to pursue doctoral studies. In 2006, she joined Badley Ashton & Associates Ltd. (UK) as Senior Clastic Reservoir Geologist, then RPS Energy (UK) in 2007 as Senior Sedimentologist and Project Manager.

In 2017, she founded her own consulting company, HennicheMaali Geosciences Ltd., offering expertise in:

• Detailed facies description and interpretation from core, wireline logs and borehole imaging
• Interpretation of depositional environments (fluvial, aeolian, shallow marine, deepwater)
• Sequence stratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy, paleogeographic reconstruction and sand body geometry
• Integration of biostratigraphy, petrography, petrophysics and borehole imaging

Between 2017 and 2020, she completed several projects in Algeria, offshore Malaysia, and offshore Brunei, working with Schlumberger and Beicip-Franlab Asia.

Honours & Recognitions

She has delivered several oral publications and is a member of AAPG and the International Association of Sedimentologists.

Impact & Influence

Introduced a new approach to correlate reservoirs across the Saharan platform, significantly influencing regional geological models.
